Compensation of Academic Loss Programme (CALP)

The Compensation of Academic Loss Programme (CALP) is implemented in the Vidyalaya to ensure that students do not suffer academically due to their participation in various sports, cultural, co-curricular, educational and other activities conducted at the school, regional, national or other levels.
The major activities undertaken for compensation of academic loss may include:
    1. Identification of students who have missed regular classes due to participation in various activities.
    2. Identification of missed topics/chapters in each subject.
    3. Conduct of remedial and additional classes during zero periods, free periods or beyond regular school hours.
    4. Providing worksheets, assignments and study material for missed portions.
    5. Peer learning and individual support for students requiring additional academic assistance.
    6. Conducting revision and practice sessions to reinforce the concepts covered.
    7. Providing digital learning resources and online support wherever required.
    8. Continuous monitoring of the academic progress of identified students.
    9. Taking regular feedback from students and teachers regarding the effectiveness of the support provided.
    10. Maintaining proper records of academic loss, remedial measures and progress achieved.
KVS academic action plan also specifically mentions zero-period arrangements for academic loss compensation for students participating in sports and other activities, along with remedial classes, continuous monitoring, competency-based practice and feedback
